To Justify Assassinating Soleimani, War Propagandist Jack Posobiec Pushes Fake News

The bottom line is that Jack Posobiec just misinformed 10,000s, if not 100,000 of Americans, about Middle Eastern geopolitics. This is a coordinated build up for war with Iran. If the march to war with Iran escalates, then Jack Posobiec better be on the front lines fighting in Iran.

On January 3rd, 2020, Iranian General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated with a US drone strike in Baghdad, Iraq. Soon after, war propagandist and Trump apologist, Jack Posobiec, took to Twitter to push outrageous lies about Qasem Soleimani being involved in the attack on the US embassy in Benghazi. His nonsensical tweet thread got over 15,000 retweets and 47,000 likes. Posobiec cited a right-wing tabloid newspaper, The New York Post, to lend credibility to his lies. The article claims that Soleimani payed Ansar al-Sharia to attack the US embassy in Benghazi. The only other article Posobiec cited was a piece done by The Washington Times, who are famously known for pushing racist conspiracy theories, such as the Obama birtherism scandal (I have major criticisms of Obama but they do not involve racist lies). The one thing these articles got right is that on September 11, 2012, Ansar al-Sharia attacked the US consulate in Benghazi, which led to the death of Ambassador Stevens.

What these professional liars did not tell their readers and followers is that Ansar al-Sharia is a Salafist Al Qaeda affiliate. Salafi-jihadists would never work with an Iranian general that led Shiite forces, like the Quds Force. Al Qaeda calls for either the killing or the forced conversion of Shias. This is not a secret. In 2006, on a taped message, Bin Laden “refers to Shiites as rejectionists, traitors, and agents of the Americans,” as he promoted sectarian warfare against Shia Muslims in Iraq.

What was Ansar al-Sharia really doing in Libya? According to the United Nations Security Council, Ansar al-Sharia “maintains several terrorist training camps in Derna, Libya, and in the region of Jebel Akhdar, Libya, mainly for the benefit of Al-Qaida associated groups in Syria and in Iraq.” Ansar al-Sharia was training Al Qaeda forces to go into Syria and Iraq. Al Qaeda forces in Syria, like Jabhat al Nusra/Fatah al-Sham, were fighting the Iranian Shiite Quds Force. According to professional social media grifter and serial liar, Jack Posobiec, the same Salafi-jihadist groups that were trying to dethrone Iran’s top ally in Syria, were also taking money from the leader of the Quds Force. In reality, the Iranian Quds Force was organizing resistance forces to push back Al Qaeda and ISIS in Syria and Iraq. The Quds Force and Ansar al-Sharia were diametrically opposed to each other. Everyone knows this.

The crisis in Benghazi actually occurred because the US was double-dealing with Al Qaeda. The hit on Ambassador Stevens was put out by the leader of Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri. He called for Americans to be attacked in Libya after a series of US drone strikes against Al Qaeda in Pakistan. The jihadists in Ansar al-Sharia attacked the CIA annex in Libya in response to the drone assassination of a high ranking Al Qaeda official, Abu Yahya al-Libi, in Pakistan. Abu Yahya al-Libi had connections with the Al Qaeda linked Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG). The LIFG were used by the CIA and MI6, through Qatar State Security, to overthrow Gaddafi in Libya. John McCain met with a leader of the LIFG, Abdel Hakim Belhaj (an Al Qaeda operative), and he deemed Belhaj to be a useful ally in overthrowing Gaddafi in Libya. Furthermore, the terrorists in Ansar al-Sharia, had at the very least, been ignored by the CIA in Libya because they were seen as a useful fighting force to dethrone Assad in Syria.

On October 2014 Ansar al-Sharia “publicly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS).” Iranian general Qasem Soleimani was a key figure in pushing back ISIS. Soleimani and US special forces used to work together in Syria and Iraq to fight ISIS. The United States would not have been able to push ISIS out of Iraq without Soleimani. As I’ve said time and time again, US foreign policy is inconsistent and the CIA and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) have contradictory goals in places like Yemen.

Killing General Soleimani was not in the US’ interest. It was done to further the interests of the Saudis and the Israelis. Soleimani was seen as a hero in the Shiite community because he helped to stop ISIS’s genocide of minority Shia Muslims across the Middle East. Iranian proxies will now likely react to Soleimani’s assassination and US troops will be put in danger. This could lead to an escalating conflict between Iran and the US. It will not happen overnight. It will be a slow burn. Tensions will no doubt increase between Iran and the United States over the next few years. One thing is for sure: the end goal is war with Iran. However, Iran will not fall for the bait and foolishly strike at major US installations. Instead, they will subtly hit American forces and assets in the Middle East. Either way, this will lead to more Americans being killed in the future.

Needless to say, the chicken hawk clown will be nowhere to be found. Instead, 10,000s of teenage Americans will get killed and will have their limbs blown off because of his lies. People like Posobiec are un-American and have no shame. He’s a despicable person.
