S. 3930—37
1005(e)(1) of Public Law 109–148 (119 Stat. 2742) and the subsection
(e) added by added by section 1405(e)(1) of Public Law
109–163 (119 Stat. 3477) and inserting the following new subsection
(e):
‘‘(e)(1) No court, justice, or judge shall have jurisdiction to
hear or consider an application for a writ of habeas corpus filed
by or on behalf of an alien detained by the United States who
has been determined by the United States to have been properly
detained as an enemy combatant or is awaiting such determination.
‘‘(2) Except as provided in paragraphs (2) and (3) of section
1005(e) of the Detainee Treatment Act of 2005 (10 U.S.C. 801
note), no court, justice, or judge shall have jurisdiction to hear
or consider any other action against the United States or its agents
relating to any aspect of the detention, transfer, treatment, trial,
or conditions of confinement of an alien who is or was detained
by the United States and has been determined by the United
States to have been properly detained as an enemy combatant
or is awaiting such determination.’’
.
(b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment made by subsection (a)
shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act, and
shall apply to all cases, without exception, pending on or after
the date of the enactment of this Act which relate to any aspect
of the detention, transfer, treatment, trial, or conditions of detention
of an alien detained by the United States since September 11,
2001.
They took jurisdiction away from any outside courts and they pardon themselves of all their crimes from 911 to forever. basically that means you can not put us on trial for any of our past treatments of prisoners. This is because the supreme court said torture was illegal which should be a no shit issue to begin with. Thus they moved what they do away from the courts and not allow the normal one to charge anyone and set up their own courts (military commissions) and the new one of course is their own appointed by the DOD thus a kangaroo court like Stalinist Russia.

Do you think that there is a chance that this will get challenged in the Supreme Court?

I suppose the question is do the public have a real opinion? Opinion is easily swayed, formed and developed by those who hold the reign of power and the propaganda machine. Hopefully within the near future, the lies of the machine will be exposed and the opinion of the people will become so enraged that they will take it upon themselves to change the direction of this country through the expungement of all those who seek to destroy the Rights, Liberty and Freedom of the People.

I talked about this in my class...one of the idiots was saying that the bill simply pertains to another world view, and that just because it's different from my views, it doesn't mean it's bad...wtf.

If the President has been given unrestricted authority, then he is affecting my rights, as well as those of every citizen who likes democracy as opposed to tyranny, like our forefathers...I'm sick of this bullshit, why doesn't anyone care?!

Why aren't there any protests going on either?
