Boycott Gas Sept. 3rd THROUGH the 10th
After considering everyones comment i think a week would be more effective, especially since i can do this (not buy gas for a week). So repost this and see what happens
Dont Buy gas on September 3rd through the 10th!!!!
Boycotting the gas company will decrease the price dramatically. So repost this to all your friends. We have to get the word out. Its NATIONAL DONT BUY GAS WEEK!!!
So repost it!!!
And yes
GAS PRICES SUCK

I don't really see this working the second time either. You're either going to fill up the day before or the day after Sept. 3, so they still get your money. Seems like it would be more effective if the strike was for like a week, and if at the end of the week, if people couldn't get to work then a lot more corporations would take heed.

Are people just gonna fill up their tanks on Sept. 2? I can see that happening. And then what's the point?
Instead of making a day to boycott gas, we should try all year to limit our consumption. Try biodisel, hybrids, or hell, cars with really good gas milage, or hell, just don't use your car all the time - ride a bike, car pool, walk, do back flips to the store, etc. The oil companies know we're starved for oil. Nothing's going to stop that but a change in the way we do things on the consumer side. Don't expect big profitable oil companies to change their ways. What message ar you sending them on Sept 3rd? That Sept. 2nd and 4th are going to be even more in the black than usual? Boycotts can work if they make sense. I'm not seeing the sense in this one.

voted no.. because i could fill up on friday?i still dont understand the point to this.
*make SUVs illegal(i hate them myself)
*take a bus, train, bike or carpool
*dont buy a new car(unless fuel efficient, but iheard they more $$$) and dont fall for those employee discount commercials w/ snoop sold out dirty dogg, hybrid/elec. dont count in the discount anyways.
but one day not buying gas wont be an impact. how about boycotting gas for a week or two instead of one day?

It wouldn't fly in the 'burbs or country. People out by where I live usually have to travel at least 20 minutes to get where they work and there's virtually NO public transit. Unless they're gonna carpool for 2 or 3 weeks but I don't see them having that much patience.

boycotting all gas will do nothing, it is a necessity and they know you need it and they can hold out.
Try just boycotting Texaco for the rest of your life. Texaco/Chevron is condi Rice's company. So boycott them. Boycotting gas pumps will only knock out the small businesses first thus giving the large corporations regional monopolies. So I say bad move. Buy gas from the smaller corporation or better yet the locally owned stations if you can.
Don't drive an SUV and Status Under Validation. They consume twice as much gas. We have 55% of all drivers driving SUVs so that is like increasing demand by 1/3 of our total.
I no longer have a car I sold it, but that is because in Japan you don't need one. So I am not using any gas. So mark that as one less car on the road.

Now that's an idea! Chavez was actually saying that he was going to try to make Gas cheaper for poorer Americans. Even if he ends up not doing it or whatever, the gesture's still appreciated. Can someone, ANYONE give me substantiated evidence that Hugo Chavez ISN'T pro-democracy, pro-working class, and in fact helping the people of Venezuela. I've heard some people say "Well he supported the Sandantistas" but that doesn't seem likely since the U.S. supported the Sandantistas and Hugo Chavez doesn't seem like a pro-U.S. type of guy. Seriously, I've heard all of the pro-Chavez things but none of the Anti-Chavez information. I at least want to see where they're coming from because I haven't heard of any evidence that this guy is anything but great for the poor.KerrySucks wrote:BUY YOUR GAS FROM CITGO it is all from Venezuela.

Gas possibly going up to $4.00 a gal because of a natural disaster!!!!
Did anyone catch that made for TV movie a few months ago about the oil crisis called Oil Storm?
It's turning out to be like a bad prophecy.
Just watching the news today has left me stunned. The long lines of people at the gas pumps all over the nation. The fear. The devistation in New Orleans and the south. The protest rallies increasing. More than 800 dead and hysteria in Iraq. Possibilities that we may be going to war with another country, and no end to war in sight.
I can't seem to concentrate on work today.
