I couldn't find a topic on it but I didn't want the Bhutto one to get diverted from the main discussion yet at the same time want to know what justified Bhutto's opinion that he died in 2006, why she would say that.

It would justify the US recent actions on pakistan and OBL (apeacing the US) but all would be different if she was in power because OBL would be dead (apeacing the people). 2 birds one stone. Politics.

I'd be interested to know more about this as well. Although we all know he died in 2001, I'm curious about this one nevertheless. I can imagine a few possibilities:

1) She's lying

2) Her sources lied to her

3) Omar Sheikh killed someone else, thinking it was him

I think you guys are misreading, I don't think she said that OBL was killed recently. She recently said it but that doesn't mean she was implying that it happened recently that I'm aware of. Notice the "In 2006" is capitalized, that's the start of a new sentence. So they weren't saying that he was killed in '06 they were just saying that's when the book was written. The sentence before that is missing a period.

Check out the segment starting at 15:43 about it in the movie Ring of Power. The army guy says "I think we killed him in Dec. '01" & "I've seen no proof of life despite these tapes that are being thrown together". If this guy Omar Sheik really did kill him & he really is British intelligence then there you go. That's probably a big reason why this woman was killed recently since that also looks like it was an inside job.

She said it during a Nov 2nd 2007 interview, however I think it's been determined it was a slip up in naming names.
