I don't know the number, however, there sure are lots of survivors! If the Nazis simply gassed Jews, why didn't they just mow them down once in a camp? Wouldn't that have been easier? Why was there children in the camps if all kids were killed upon reaching the camp? I believe that most Jews truly believe what they have been told about the Holocaust, but it is likely a mass delusion, based on pre-existing insecurity, or pre-traumatic stress disorder as Gilad Atzmon calls it.

I've read that some children weren't killed right away. I'm not a "denier". I'm aware that many Jewish people were mistreated and killed. I'm also aware that the creation of a Jewish State on top of Arabs isn't a solution. If you were Jewish, why would you want to do that? Why would someone choose self-segregation?

I'm with Raoul, a few hundred thousand and mostly due to disease and starvation because of the terrible conditions Germany was in during the later stages of the war.

Killing all those people (even if they wanted to) wouldn't have made any sense since they had a severe labor shortage (and hey, that's free labor right there). You either have to believe they wanted to win the war, or they just wanted to kill Jews. You can't believe both.

I should point out there is a train of thought which says Hitler wanted all Jews killed as a final solution, but that Himmler had to take it upon himself to modify this oral Hitler order to reserve whatever labour was needed and then to do away with that. It has been the subject of discussion. Wisliceny, a German officer once said Himmler showed him a piece of paper with Hitler's signature demanding a final solution whenever able. But he was a German defendant in an allied power show trial.
