The lead homicide investigator, Chris Serino who was on the scene, didn't believe Zimmerman's story either.

Yeah, he wanted a manslaughter charge (not a murder charge like some who haven't even seen all the evidence want) and there were others who obviously disagreed with him.

At the end of the day, I think Zimmerman is probably in trouble civilly, but not criminally.

Pictures were taken, and they eventually will come out to show just who's telling the truth. In meantime, I think both sides should cool down on the "this is exactly what happened' rhetoric.

I don't listen to conservative talk radio, I listen to music all day at work. I'm simply using the facts that have been reported and have listened to the tapes.

Anyway, Zimmerman says he was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him, and Trayvon threw the first punch, broke his nose and nocked him down, and then bashed the back of his head against the ground.

Is that exactly what happened, who knows. But the only witness to the fight says he saw Trayvon on top of Zimmerman and Zimmerman did (most likely) have the wounds that have been reported (despite the grainy police video). Now, if balistics prove that Trayvon was shot from the front and from a close range, I don't see how Zimmerman is guity. Some new piece of evidence is going to have to come out to discredit his story. Because you can't convict on what you think happened, you have to prove guity beyond a reasonable doubt. Which is why I think he might be in trouble civilly, but not criminally.

This isn't the schoolyard, this isn't the UFC, this is Florida, which has a 'stand your ground' law. Totally changes the dynamic here. And according to Zimmerman, this wasn't even a fight he started, he says the other guy threw the first punch and knocked him down. At that point, what gave Martin the right to get on top of him and beat him some more. Was Martin still in fear after he knocked the other guy down? Because Zimmerman was following him at one point, does not give Martin the right to come back and start a fight with him.

And again, we don't even know all of Zimmerman's account to the police. How do you know he didn't say there was a struggle over the gun? That could be a good reason why he wasn't charged. The full story will eventually come out.

And one of these guys (I believe to be Zimmerman) was yelling for help for a good bit, where all these cowardly neighbors who didn't even leave their house? They basically watched or listened to 2 guys trying to kill eachother while they cowered in fear. I mean, my God, if my Grandps have been in that neighborhood, he would have went outside with a gun and told them both to get off his f*cking lawn.

It sounds like you and others are holding onto half truths, speculation and questionable testimony to defend the indefensible.

Stand your ground law is a legal defense to be used in a civil or criminal court case, not an excuse to allow cops to decide to allow a murderer to walk away from a murder and go into hiding. Plus, the cops allegedly did not arrest Zimmerman because he had a "squeaky clean" record but this wasn't true according to his arrest records.

I guess we'll find out when all the evidence comes out. They say they took pictures of his injuries at the scene.

I still say you can see the laceration on the back of his head at 1:06. And you can't tell whether the dude has a broken nose from a grainy police video taken from a distance.

No that's wrong, the investigator wanted to charge him with manslaughter, but the state attorney held it up.
