I could proofread it if you send it to me. I'm an A student in grammar and language skills(even though I don't always show it) and I could help with any mistakes. Plus I could see of one of my friends could contact the local newspaper here and see if they'd run it. They're always looking for articles, and it'd be nice to see some Palestine-related material in the paper for a change.

Re: trying to publish my op-ed and need help...
hey you guys.. sorry for resurfacing my post here but i had a quick question,
so this one site wants a bio of me in a line or two. the truth is theres really not much to my name other than the fact that i did an internship at a palestinian organization, i dont have a masters, or a phd in any related field and i dont have a book and i have no intention on writing one..
should i make up some bull that i also worked at a refugee camp? haha! i know i shouldnt...
any suggestions would be great.. so far i plan on saying that i'm a "freelance writer, lecturer and media activist." and that i "previously worked with the American Association for Palestinian Equal Rights (AAPER) a nonprofit, nonpartisan, educational organization." which i did.

My last resort is a few blogs that I know of who would gladly take the piece. But i wanna try to aim big before going small. I'm not even asking for compensation, I just want to be heard.ne0aes0p wrote:Your op-ed rejection may have nothing to do with grammar. Its entirely up to the editor. Most published op-eds are from syndicated op-ed writers or officials directly involved with the subject or well known authors.
I once had a similar problem when I tried to get an op-ed published. No one would take it. I sent it out to about 5 different newspapers and nothing! I posted it on Myspace and the FBI read it and passed it to Stephen Hadley as intel. A few days later Bush was echoing some of the same lines I wrote, word for word in the news.
Don't worry about the newspapers. Publish it through a blog or Myspace. People will still read it.
