Yeah good point, I forgot about the fear aspect....
well as for today's wars its less likely to be seen, at least not in the democratic states of today.... today it would be based more on propaganda and barinwashing for hate and nationalisem.

effectively dehumanize your "enemy" it makes it much easier to kill them.....connect it with a painful event (9/11) and tell the suckers that these folk were behind it builds up the dehumanization.
I haven't watched TV for 2 years (like more than an hour at a time), I think that helped me wake up faster to the smell of shit eminating from DC.......

There is no problem, that's why war is a racket.
Should we all go to civil war for gay marriage? What is the evil in this case? Or is it just a political ploy to make some cash via the politicization of it.
Lots of people open their wallets on both sides of this. Who benfits from creating the division, antagonisms, and profits that come with it? Who is evil?
Ry is right and modern war is no differen't.
War is a racket.

I think the problem with war, is the agressor's lack of ability to define "useless".

both sides may think they are fighting for good usually one or both are fighting fro greed.
When Crazy Horse fought Custer is was about survival. The AMericans Indians who fought were the good guys the American 7th Calvary which was invading and killing women and babies were EVIL although they thought they for fighting for god and killing heretics, there is no god and they were just murdering people because they were bigots.
They didn't do it for god. They simply did it because they wanted to expand. I don't know if Custer was a bigot, per se, but he was dishonorable.

War is completely useless to the common man-- only the politicians and wealthy fatcats who own the oil companies and defense contractors make out like bandiits.
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
