You're wrong on two points

Post by hassani » Mon Jul 23, 2007 9:59 am

Whether a country called "Palestine" existed or not, is irrelevant anyway - people, whether they're called Palestinians or whatever, are entitled to continue living in their homes. They're entitled to be left alone. Israel is not entitled to massacre them or drive them out of their homes, and settle Jews in their place as they did. Not even in a time of war. That's a basic principle of international law called the Geneva Convention.

Second, Cyrus did not free the Jews of Egypt - he freed the Jews of Babylon, many centuries after Abraham supposedly existed. But in any case, even Jews agree that the religious myths used by Israel to justify its aggression against Palestinians are based on falsehoods:
Read this in the NY Times:

As Rabbis Face Facts, Bible Tales are Wilting

United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism issues new Torah and commentary called Etaz Hayim (Tree of Life), which offers interpretation of Bible as human rather than divine document; book, incorporating latest findings from archaeology, philology, anthropology and study of ancient cultures, proposes that Abraham never existed, that entire Exodus story as recounted in Bible probably never occurred, that Jericho was unwalled and uninhabitated, and that David was not fearless king who built Jerusalem into might capital but more likely a provincial leader whose reputation was later magnified to provide rallying point for fledgling nation

The Jews were a dominant force in that part of the Mideast for at most 600 out of the 6000 year history of the region. That provides no superior claims or rights to the land today.

That's what I've been saying to those I cannot argue with. They had cities, farms, and homes. What do you call that!?!??!

Cyrus the Great (c.600–529 bc) King of Persia, founder of the Achaemenid Empire in Persia. He overthrew the Medes, then rulers of Persia, in 549 bc, defeated King Croesus of Lydia (c.546 bc), captured Babylon (539 bc) and the Greek cities in Asia Minor. Although he failed to conquer Egypt, Cyrus' empire stretched from the Mediterranean to India. He delivered the Jews from their Babylonian Captivity, sending them home to Palestine. His decree, held in the British Museum, is regarded as the first declaration of human rights.
-World Encyclopedia (that's a real encyclopedia not wiki [however even wiki agrees on this])

It was a Persian King Cyrus the II who freed the Jews from what is now Egypt but at the time was part of the Babylonian empire. The ancient Jews were saved by ancient Iran. Cyrus entered Babylon (now Baghdad) and replaced an unpopular king, a King who worshipped the Moon god Sin rather than the more popular god Marduk, the Harvest God (whom the famous Hanging Gardens was made for). The People wanted the king to worship Marduk not Sin so they welcomed Cyrus in ridding the corrupt king. The Persians did not believe in slavery so all the slaves in the Babylonian kingdom were set free not just the Jews.

That's right it was Cyrus not God who freed the Jews from Egypt. And they were lead by an Egyptian (not a Jew and yes that river in the basket story is nonsense) into what is now Palestine/Israel. There the nearly all male force (because slaves were usually men used for labor and the women probably opted to stay prostitutes rather than wonder around in the desert) immediately began their long stint of raping and murdering and constant warfare. Read the 4,5,6 books in the Bible and get a feel for the blood craze and if you really want something sick read Leviticus and learn the details about sacrificing animals and sleeping with your own daughter and all the laws that would result in you being put to death (by very creative means) if you broke them.
Doesn't the Bible say that there were 2 periods of captivity, with the first one ending with Moses, and the second with Cyrus? We know from history that Cyrus ended the "second" captivity in 600-500 BCE. It's the "first" captivity, that allegedly ended 1,000 years prior, which we don't seem to know much about outside of religious traditions.

So, are you saying that the Israelites' "first" capitivity in Egypt is a farce, and that the Chaldeans were the only ones who enslaved them (i.e. the Israelites making up and romanticizing their own backstory so they can become their own thing)?

Or are you saying that their freedom from Egyptian capitivity is a romanticized version of their freedom from Neo-Babylonian captivity?

That's the phrase religious Zionists use to encourage support from Christians.

You missed one interesting point: The trick at the Gaza stadium qualifies Samson as the first suicide bomber we know of.

Those who lived in central Asia in a kingdom of the Khazards became Jews in the 17th century, after they became to greedy and lost their kingdom they went to northern Europe (around the area of Poland) and then to the rest of Europe and the world.

The Zionist movement (which is a political party) came about in 1897, there was even talks about founding a new country for themselves in Africa.

Up till 1913 only 3% of the population of Falestine consisted of "the Jews of the Bible" which I call " the real Jews" and who owned 8% of the land.

The Darfour treaty was one given to the Zionists by England in order for the Zionists to get the US involved in the war against Germany "WW I".

A lot to read and a lot to learn if you search the WWW, don't believe the propaganda that you read in the US about the "Jews" because all that you will read was put out by the Zionists.

The Zionist have spended millions of dollars in convincing the world that anything done or spoken against them is to be "anti Semite".

Remember that the real Jews and the Arabs came from the same father for they were brothers and have nothing to do with the Khazar-European-Zionist wanabe Jews.

The Zionist movement is a political party and not part of the Jewish religion therefore to be a anti Zionist is like being a anti Democrat, no crime in that.................YET.

This was INSERTED into the Bible during the 20th C. Scroll up and read my post about this, and click on the link to find out about it.

Israel was a man, not a country. Israel was Abraham's grandson. The country of Israel did not materialize anywhere, ever, until 1948. All references to it in the Bible were inserted into a new version of the Bible in the last 100 years.

Again, I urge you to watch what is obviously a devout Christian (and former Evangelical) taking this shit apart. Fascinating.

The bible has talking animals and a man living inside a whales belly for three days.

Moses is complete fiction. So is Adam and Eve. See the vdeo History vs Religion that I linked to in the thread.
