UN Adopts Resolution Condemning Holocaust Denial.

Denial is such a ridiculous term, it is not a it happened or it did not happen issue. It is an issue over how it happened and just how many people can we prove actually died because the old 6 million figure every kid is forced to remember in school was based on a lot of things that later were shown to be false.

I actually believe a Holocaust happened however now I am going to go around denying it just because of this measure. Nobody in Japan is going to care because Japan is not run by Neoconservative Christian and Jewish fanatics.

I do not care how ignorant something is, people have a right to free speech. I think religions are about as retarded and stupid (even dangerous) an idea as anything anyone could ever make up, but there is NO WAY I would say that people do not have the right to be and say stupid things. Even though I am a 100% sure that religions are bullshit I am also 100% sure that I do not get to decide what is and what is not bullshit. Everyone has a right to believe in what they want and it does not matter if there is evidence or not. Likewise I an other atheist (which I guess includes Buddhists as well) should not be rounded up for not believing in god(s).

If you are going to site evidence as a reason to condemn an idea then I say let's first start with the myth of Jesus Christ or the myth of Noah riding an ark as the whole world flooded form god temper tantrum.

Those Ideas of Jesus and Noah are as widely accepted as the Holocaust for most people despite there being ZERO evidence for them and the physical impossibilities of a man coming back to life after being dead for three days or a man cramming 2 to 7 animals of every non-ocean dwelling species into a boat and sailing around for 40 days and nights.

At least the Holocaust was physically possible albeit very little evidence to support the 6 million figure, it is certain that a lot of people were killed. How that is any worse than the 20 million Russians that died in WWI or the millions of Chinese who died in WWII or the tens of millions of American Indians killed in colonization is beyond me.

What the Hell is the UN doing? If there is so much evidence for the Holocaust then just show it and be done with it. There are people that deny how many American Indians were killed (50 million) or how many Africans died in the slave trade (~42 million) but people are not arrested for questioning it, they are just made to look like fools by all the overwhelming evidence to show that they are wrong.

The Holocaust camp can not do this because most of the evidence was tainted with disinfo (in order to get larger reparations) and there are many myths attached to the Holocaust like Jewish soap and lampshades, or gas chambers with electric floors etc. THAT however does not mean that people were not rounded up and worked to death which there is plenty of evidence for including survivors. As to the causes of starvation it may or may not have been mostly due to allied bombing and you can have an academic debate about that however the fact that it is now Illegal to even talk about it makes me question the entire thing. Just what are they afraid of us discovering?!!

And the slaughter of American Indians isn't only legal to talk about, they are scoffed at by many ignorant white people who will tell you to get over it if they're mentioned. It reminds of me of part of Bill Hicks' rant about JFK where when people tell him to get over the government cover-up of his assassination cause it was a long time ago he tells them to get over the assassination of Jesus cause that was a long time ago too

I have heard white Christians laugh about the death of American Indians. The Capital football team is still the Washington Redskins. I meet others who just act like "it doesn't count."

These same people are the ones who don't give a damn about the uses of Depleted Uranium and who think the nuclear bombs dropped on Japan "saved lives." Or that cancer from cigarettes and global warming are junk science.

So it's no longer legal to question the officially stated events and explanation of the holocaust, but it's perfectly fine to make up more crap about it that will benefit those who benefit from it now. It's perfectly fine to exaggerate the numbers, to further dramatize the intentions, to further pigeonhole the blame, and to extract further compensation from those with no involvement.

Thought crime sucks.
Protecting lies sucks.
Exploiting people with events from the past sucks.

Just say Holocast instead of Holocaust. And pretend its fiction.

Good point.. not that either should be banned, or that 'deniers' of the holocaust want to ban Judaism, but good point. It's the banning of a belief.
