Let me know?

I've been following this site for quite a while. It seems to me like information is available on here that doesn't appear anywhere else. I try my best to let people know whats happening but they don't seem to care. Tonight its come to a head and i'm really p*ssed off. Why won't people listen? This might be a bit sad but i've wrote this to show how i feel - tell me what you think - whether you think it's shite or great - let me know, cheers.

Why do people listen
when i know they dont really care
is it too much for them to think about ?
Is it about their war in iraq?

Because it is their war.

Its about Money and Power
And its so obvious.

Its not about people
it not about Good,

Its about Evil
and it's easy to say -
that its got nothing to do with me

I`ve been caught in a trap
And i think i know whats going on
but i haven`t got a clue
whatever i try to do

Marvin tried to help
and he did

But the world is falling apart
and WHAT CAN I DO??
Why should i bother?
It seems too much to take in -
And it makes me wanna holler..

I understand fully that people do not listen. You have to keep the message short and sweet for the morons to get it so.Just cut and paste this message and put it everywhere.

People do NOT vote for Edwards, Hillary, or Obama, they all support a war with Iran and they all support Israel. We don't need a Bush of a different color.

I have found that you have to show the problem from the root. And that is the Israel-Palestine issue. If you can show them the truth of that, then there is hope. If they still refuse to beleive the truth of the Palestine issue, then they have a black heart and there is no hope for them. Move on.

You're going up against time-tested mass brain washing techniques - Madison Avenue, organized religion, military jingoism, junk science etc. Ain't gonna turn it around in a one on one conversation. Avoid pushing ideological buttons by avoiding use of cliched buzz word like "military industrial complex", "mainstream media", "war crimes", "zionists" etc - the average american just mentally labels you as a commie pinko and filters accordingly.

In other words be creative, use a thesaurus (lol).

Someone at work says " They just hate us, we should kill them all" just respond non-confrontationally "That's not true, and it's wrong to kill innocents, esp. children..." Then they say " is too true, saw it on Fox/CNN, masked terrorists, guns the whole bit" and you say " That's only a fraction of millions - don't you remember thousands of Iranians demonstrating against the terrorists right after 911 ? Holding candles for the 911 victims....?" and they say " No, that didn't happen ..." and you say "You've only seen one side of the story, don't you want to know both sides ?" at which point you whip out your dvd copy of 'why we fight' or 'peace and propaganda in the holy land' and if they refuse to watch it then say " watch it and tell me what's false about it" at least you might expose them to other sources of info censored by our media.

Even if they refuse at least they know they are in the presence of someone with morals proscribing murder - they won't admit it but that will have at least a subconscious effect, sort of like if they used racial epithets to which you objected - a little embarassment.

I don't know if you're dealing with friends, relatives, co-workers or what, but you gotta ease them into it, and chances are you're not going to change any minds. They pr'olly won't visit web sites you suggest. But you can be a witness as to the rightness/wrongness of american actions. Memorize a few simple facts with names, places, dates so you can say like "Saddam/Iraq had nothing to do with 911: Bush said so fall '03 speech FoxNews clip you can see http://thinkprogress.org/2006/08/21/bush-on-911/ " or similar.

And of course they'll come back at you with all kinds of bs rationalizing but then someone like that is lost cause anyway - be pleased at least you prick their bubble of comfortable complacency.

And your poem indeed reflects what many of us feel, frustration and resignation sometimes. But remember there has been some progress getting people to turn against this administration.

superskips response is best. I think we should almost sticky it or put it somewhere. It's the same idea I've had rolling around, but he was able to put it into words. It is too much for most people to absorb. And they are really more concerned with the next episode of American Idol than they are with the Libby case. No one even knows what that case is about. I start em with Palestine. Because I think it is the root, and also explains extremism.

Normally these people either hate the Democrats. If they hate Democrats tell them how Hillary supports war with Iran and suports the fascist state of Israel.

The Israeli Palestinian issue IS the heart of this issue. People have to know about the occupation or they will never understand our policies in the ME.

It is also a first step to let them know that Iraq had nothing to do with 911. Do not try and say 911 was an inside job. Take the Ward Churchill approach.

Ry, what is the ward churchill approach? I thought he went along with the terrorists attacking us story and said that we need to stop pissing off muslims by supporting Israel.
