yea i work at california plaza(Downtown) and it was wierd. i was just done with my lunch break and started heading back up. i notice the power was out in small stores. they didnt let anyone in the building because the elevators were out. for 2 hours i was outside walking around and a shitload of people were there standing outside. everytime a fire truck passed by, everyones would run to see what going like if some terrible happened. not only that cell phones kept dropping calls. i think it was a bunch of BS, like some kind of scare tactic or something. but theres so much our government hides that i cannot believe that this outage was some little circuit that blew. i still dont even know what caused it.Gyps wrote:So the lights went out in LA (the one in Cali) today. How long was the power out? Because that means security cameras were turned off in many areas.
I was with no power for a month when the halloween storm hit North Carolina. The worst thing is having no refridgeration.

As much as I think you are being sarcastic, I am highly suspicious of anything and everything as I see the theory of a police state become reality.mediasyko wrote:probably awaiting more looters to enstill martial law on LA-Ca, LOL!
This country will crumble if power outages get out of control. This is certainly one of the suspicions I have with 9/11. If terrorists really wanted to ruin America, there are much more effective ways than what happened on 9/11/01.
I am from the Gulf Coast. I have lived in Ocean Springs, Biloxi and Gulfport, Mississippi; as well as Mobile and Gulf Shores, Alabama. I know about the power outages with alll of the hurricanes. No refrigerator and no A/C during the hottest of southern summers, with the humidity that we have, is certainly the worst.

i heard two hours, they had generators right after it went out but they did not let anyone in. but their saying that it was human error. that some DWP worker cut wrong cable which shut down power in the whole downtown and west l.a. area.Ry wrote:How long was the power out? Enron anyone? Is it not fricking sad that electric power is centralized? You have the illusion of competition when all of them rent it from the same monopoly source.
