Would everyone here please share any sites which effectively debunk common myths of Israeli propaganda? Electronic Intifada used to have an excellent debunking paged years ago, but I can't find it now. The internet is filled with Israeli propaganda. Just Google any relevant phrase, and see what I mean. They have page after page and video after video spouting distortions and outright lies. I am thinking that the only way to end this Israeli domination of Palestine is for those of us who know what's going on, to have ready responses when we encounter Israeli lies on social media. The old folks who watch tv , maybe we can't reach, but for the young, certainly we can do a better job of providing factual info to counter the false Israeli narrative. I always try to put myself in others' shoes. Can we really fault people for being so ignorant on this issue, when the other side has such a powerful internet presence, and we don't? What Ryan does is crucial, but I can see how we need simple , but factual info presented in easy to understand formats for the dumbed down but not necessarily uncaring or stupid portion of the masses. Some folks need to see the truth about myths such as the human shield crap, and the false meme about symmetrical suffering in historic Palestine before they will ever care.

Thanks, I have seen some of those sites, but I have yet to see an organized list of responses to common boilerplate Israeli myths. They are so good at pushing the most ridiculous, racist memes. I don't see a repetitive pushback that could really counter this. For example, people should use the term "Jewish only" colonization every chance they get. Ryan does it, but even most Palestinian activists don't seem to grasp how simple phrases could turn the tide. Something is terribly wrong with our effort when the Israelis are able to convince folks that Israel is not an apartheid state.

The only reason why is that they have better PR, financial muscle, and the mass media. Alternative media has not failed by any means in pushing the Palestinian cause. So much progress has been made, every Zionist soundbite ('The land was empty, Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, Jordan is the real Palestine, ect) has been put to bed now. Its much easier now to debunk these myths compared to 10 years ago. If you want to disspell any illusions about how wonderful and democratic Israel is, read Max Blumenthal's book, Goliath. For history, go on If American's knew, or read The Controversy of Zion, by Douglas Reed. Don't forget anti-neocons aswell, using search and looking through older threads is really helpful.

While I agree that alternative media has at times been good on the Palestine issue, I think the mainstream media has become even more pro-Israeli. Even during the wave of suicide bombings in the earlier part of the last decade, most networks would have both sides in the conflict represented on the talk and news shows. As early as the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in the early 80s, we were seeing voices to tell the non-Israeli side. But in the last five or so years, all we now see are Israeli reps and PR hacks. Its beyond ridiculous. And yes, some of the Zionist myths have been damaged, many of them persist, and new ones, such as the human shield thing, thrive.
