By "we" I mean our congress, politicians, media, staff, etc.

I think the people support them simply because they're told to. Their ministers, their politicians, and the television all tell them to support Israel. Why?

Does Israel lobby so hard that politicians and media are forced to give them support?
Or are there that many Zionists in positions of power?

I hear people say all the time that there is no longer any need to support Israel, but we continue to do so. Why?

oh boy long answer needed however the short answer is because they control the US media. Add to that blackmail and bribery and religious ideology in that order.

They control the media how?

They are literally in positions of power in the major media networks?

Or they control the media through other means?

Beyond the media though, how do you account for our government's persistent support of Israel? It's hard for me to believe it's simply because "the people" demand it.

Is it Israel itself, or is it our own politicians working on behalf of Israel?

I'm in a position where I can see the forest, I can see the monetary and political support our government gives. I can see the media support, and the support of the useful idiots.
But I can't see the trees. I can't see how that support originates. I don't want to be one of those people that just blames the "goddamn jews" without anything to back it up.

Maybe that could be fodder for a video or documentary.

That's understandable. Although, it probably would save a lot time when discussing the MIC with others, to be able to reference it with a link.
