Murder celebration television
look at the MSM portrayal and the american culture's response. that is who "we" are. broadcasting to millions of viewers the lynching of a HUMAN BEING under the justification "its a viral internet video, and people might see it anyway... yeah, this is in good taste. it doesn't misrepresent our value systems" a few more years, hell, we might have a MURDER TV channel, just like HISTORY channel, or almost a PBS. this is the television people vote for. it doesn't outrage, it excites. i just found out there is a TV channel that has show called BOMB SQUAD AFGHANISTAN, because apparently death and being blown up is good tv. they drive robots around with xbox controllers, peg children in their faces with bottles of water, and obscenely mock the country, its citizens, and the situation.
but the good ole tax paying, cable purchasing, educated enough to elect people into office, americans, welcome this. these companies don't guess what the people think is good tv, they research it. focus groups and ratings, people "vote" with their dollars. they "vote" on the internet, myspace, twitter, and facebook. there exist a myriad of concurrent tones and principles of individuals the world over. we/they dont need conjectures, its printed and archived for public/private domain. we do good here sifting through it everyday trying to surmise the world's condition and truth, as isolated, limited resourced, working class people. mostly alone in our efforts. imagine how accurate a picture is unveiled when the government and other corporations just PAY people to do what we do here. "go research the essence of american culture" "we'll pay you 30 dollars an hour" "just connect the dots, make an educated guess" "oh yeah, we employ thousands for this position" people get what they want, what they will buy, for the most part, especially when its distracting. people pay for this atrocity type entertainment. same as they do for food, technology, and politicians. mostly all sub par and worthless. even when politicians are virtuous, sympathetic individuals, could you imagine working amongst rapist and murderers, shaking hands with people permitting this shit? sharing the same title? its insidious murdering garbage. these people smile at each other and go about their fucking business no problem. not responsible. even if its their constituents, its not them personally, so there is no blood on their hands. the masses are vacant. most people dont know what they eat, or how crippling and devoid of nutrition it is. feeding children a happy meal. but they are supposed to know civics and statecraft, in turn directing the course of others livelihoods? even with steps in the right direction, our "democracy" will only be as good as the people in it.
and they are a fucking joke. the gaddafi glee is just one further corroboration. the real problem is we shouldn't presume people will be waking up on their own. so lets AS A GROUP get down to it.

"gaddafi glee" - that is perfect
I think (re)directing the OWS movement while it's happening would be the most effective tactic and opportunity we have atm for raising awareness.

I hope since it happened anyway that the live lynching will turn people off and make them realize how horrible war actually is and that it is not a video game. Notice the complete opposite rational here from the nosamagate where not even a photo could be released. They relish when an enemy is killed like Gaddafi or Saddam. But when it is a CIA asset like Osama they have to fake a capture. Getting Bin Laden should have been the most widely covered new event instead it became hear say. ...just trust us we're the government.

This is very difficult to do. Personally I like facebook and try very hard to get people to read something or watch something that isn't main stream media generated. But of my 100 "friends" so few are interested. I try to get people to think about the entire situation (Libya/Nato/Oil/Gold/World) rather than just Gaddafi. But its difficult for them to comprehend and everyone is so busy that they won't spend extra time learning the history of these events to understand the present day facades that are taking place.ipsissimus wrote: the real problem is we shouldn't presume people will be waking up on their own. so lets AS A GROUP get down to it.
Apricot is right. The OWS movement is a perfect place to start. But isn't it funny how New York has embraced the OWS movement as a party and Oakland has resorted to rubber bullets? This makes this movement unreliable and untrustworthy.
I think, like the Occupy movement, we need a plan. A simple plan. I read a blog about how the Occupy Movement started - with Adbusters and then a group of anarchists. It progressed quickly into what it is now. It got too broad.
If I were to start a movement it would be to get people to STOP trusting the media. First and foremost. Dissect every news story and see that they are lying to us. People need to see that there is an agenda behind the media outlet.
How do you get people to stop trusting what they see on television and read in the newspapers?

HIstory class never sites the economic reasons for war they always create grandious ideological battles andmoral strife. The reality is much more simple. The rich manipulate the poor via idologoical himhaw into killing one another for resources and control.
