Rachel Corrie's Parents Get Vile
Letter From Haifa Univ
From Dick Eastman
3-8-10

From Dr. Gunther Kümel

March 7, 2010

Steven Plaut is a professor at Haifa University. He can be contacted at [email protected].

Rachel Corrie's Parents Get Nasty Letter
From Professor At Haifa University

From Steven E. Plaut

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Corrie,
You are coming to our lovely town to sue Israel, claiming that your daughter was "killed by an Israeli bulldozer." But you neglect to mention the circumstances under which she was so killed (nor the fact that she died from her injuries while under Palestinian medical care).

You have stated, "She had been working in Rafah with a nonviolent resistance organization, the International Solidarity Movement, trying to stop the demolition of Palestinian homes and wells."

Homes and wells, huh?

Well, she was not. Rachel was trying to prevent the demolition of tunnels used to smuggle weapons for Palestinian terrorists seeking to murder Jewish civilians. ISM openly endorses Palestinian "armed struggle" against Jewish children and civilians and openly collaborates with terrorists. It has hidden wanted terrorists and their weapons in its offices. It is an accomplice in murder. Lying is not the best way to drum up sympathy for your daughter.

You say your daughter died trying to protect an "innocent house." Again, this is not the truth. That "innocent house" was camouflage for a not-so-innocent terrorist smuggling tunnel, and the residents of that innocent house knew all about the tunnel.

Your daughter was in a war zone as a belligerent, on behalf of a movement of Arab fascists seeking to destroy Israel and murder as many Jews as possible. Your daughter died while interfering with an anti-terror operation carried out by soldiers in a land in which she had no business being at all.

You demand that we feel your pain at the loss of your daughter, yet your daughter conscripted herself as an accomplice for those seeking to murder my children. You feel no pain for the scores of martyrs in my own city of Haifa murdered by those same terrorists.

Your daughter put herself in harm's way by challenging a large bulldozer and positioning herself where the operator could not see her. You know quite well that the bulldozer operator was not seeking to harm her.

You have written, "We had not understood the devastating nature of the Palestinians' situation." Of course, you have never expressed any interest in the devastating nature of the Jews' situation. The Jews have been battling Arab fascism and genocidal terrorism for a hundred years, before, during, and after the Nazi Holocaust of six million Jews. Your daughter was helping those who perpetrate Nazi-like atrocities against randomly selected Jews.

You smugly praise the propaganda play about your daughter, which ignored all the other Rachels - the Jewish victims of terror in Israel who were murdered by genocidal terrorists.

Your daughter, and apparently you as well, never had any understanding of the Middle East conflict. The Middle East conflict is not about the right to self-determination of Palestinian Arabs, but rather about the right to self-determination of Israeli Jews.

For a century the Arabs have attempted to block any expression of Jewish self-determination, using violence, armed aggression, and terrorism. The Arabs today control 22 countries and territory nearly twice the size of the United States. They refuse to share even a fraction of one percent of the Middle East with Jews, even in a territory smaller than New Jersey.

The Arab countries invented the Palestinian people and their "plight" as a propaganda ploy in imitation of the German campaign on behalf of Sudeten self-determination in the 1930s. Just as the struggle for "Sudeten liberation" was nothing more than a fig leaf for the German aggression aimed at annihilating Czechoslovakia, so the struggle for "Palestinian liberation" is nothing more than cover for a jihad to destroy Israel and its population.

Your write, "Clearly, our daughter has become a positive symbol for people."

I am afraid you are mistaken. Your daughter has become a symbol for dangerous foolhardiness. She essentially committed suicide as an empty gesture to assist murderers and terrorists.

You want the world to mourn for your daughter, who died while working with monsters out to murder our children. On the pages of anti-Semitic propaganda web magazines you denounce Israel, but you do not have a single word of sympathy for the families of the thousands of innocent Israeli victims of the terrorists with whom your daughter chose to ally herself.

On behalf of the citizens of Haifa, all of whom your daughter's Hamas friends are trying to murder, I remain,

Steven Plaut

THIS LETTER DESERVES AN ANSWER:

Sir,
I have read your letter to the mourning parents of Rachel Corrie.
Useless to say that your words are not correct in dozens of respects. I even don't find myself inclined to correct them. Even the contrary of your distorted arguments would be wrong.

However the letter depicts the long known tendency of Zionists in Palestine and in the whole world to see only their own advantage.

You are so far engaged into the feeling of supremacy, that you even find fit to attack the already dead victims of the state crimes perpetrated against your own brethren (the Palestinians, remember the work of your colleague Shlomo Sand).

It is more than abhorrent since one could have expected from a university professor more distinction.

Regards
Dr. Gunther Kümel.

I'm going to dissect this one piece at a time.
You have stated, "She had been working in Rafah with a nonviolent resistance organization, the International Solidarity Movement, trying to stop the demolition of Palestinian homes and wells."

Homes and wells, huh?

It is an accomplice in murder. Lying is not the best way to drum up sympathy for your daughter.
Sorry, but homes of innocents have been demolished. Children have been shot in the head. Crops and other property in Gaza have been destroyed.

and YES, wells have been poisoned by Israelis in the past.

No photos. No video. No map. Nothing. Just the word of someone from the 'chosen people.'
Your daughter was in a war zone as a belligerent, on behalf of a movement of Arab fascists seeking to destroy Israel and murder as many Jews as possible. Your daughter died while interfering with an anti-terror operation carried out by soldiers in a land in which she had no business being at all.
Nice try but the Zionists went into Palestine knowing there were hundreds of thousands of arabs there that would have to be moved out. Ben Gurion and Jabotinsky knew it. So did everybody else that wasn't a liar.
http://www.representativepress.org/IsraelHistory.html
http://representativepress.blogspot.com ... inian.html
It was an ethnic cleansing operation and even a lot of Jews who have dared to write certain books know it and are trying to keep it from being hidden. Arabs didn't hate Jews until they took over their land and murdered and raped them.
You demand that we feel your pain at the loss of your daughter, yet your daughter conscripted herself as an accomplice for those seeking to murder my children.
If Rachel was alive she could sue him for libel. Second of all, I guess this Jew thinks nothing about the arab children that died. Why? Because they are amalek and all amalek, which are the palestinians, must be wiped out. Even children. Because it is inevitable that they will grow up to hate Jews anyway. My, how racist of this Jew.
Your daughter put herself in harm's way by challenging a large bulldozer and positioning herself where the operator could not see her. You know quite well that the bulldozer operator was not seeking to harm her.
Actually that's not true, moron.
http://irish4palestine.blogspot.com/201 ... orist.html
She was in clear view of the bulldozer. Nice try. Israel is going to lose in this lawsuit and you can't handle it.
The American media does that for you. The American media is Zionist. It has a pro Israeli slant. You're just pissed someone is trying to break the media monopoly. Arab terrorists are created by Israeli thuggery. You don't want Jews to die from more suicide bombers, tell your IDF boys to stop shooting kids, knocking down homes, ripping up tress, poisoning wells and destroying crops. Sound fair?
You smugly praise the propaganda play about your daughter, which ignored all the other Rachels - the Jewish victims of terror in Israel who were murdered by genocidal terrorists.
Whose numbers pale in comparison to the number of dead Palestinians.
You mean people were opposed to Zionism before Israel got created? Yeah, how dare they try to protect the local inhabitants of Palestine. Even some Jews were against Zionism back in those days. You say the Jews had to leave Europe and get away from Hitler? Hitler was funded by Jewish and Gentile banks from England and American Wall Street. If you want to blame somebody for frustrating attempts by even Nazis to get Jews out and into other European countries who WOULD accept them (instead of going to Palestine), blame the Zionists who sacrificed these Jews for their political ambitions. You can read about this in chapter six of Schoenman's book.

Apples and Oranges. The palestinians were ethnically cleansed in the forties fifties and sixties and even up to day. Germans were never ethnically cleansed by anyone.

She did not commit suicide. That bulldozer saw her as the photos in that irish4palestine blog proves. Israel is now a symbol for murder and apartheid and you are a symbol for Jewish Supremacism and Zionist lying.

Yeah... I don't buy it. That's pretty hyperbolic and coming from Israel, where so many people know better? I don't know. Seems made up. If it was Alan Dershowitz that wrote the same letter I would believe it.

Steven Plaut
Steven Plaut (born 1951; BA from Temple University, MA from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Ph.D. from Princeton University) is an associate professor teaching Business Administration in the Graduate School of Business at the University of Haifa.

Described by a fellow Israeli academic as
"an extreme right-wing polemicist from Haifa University"
Prof. David Newman has written the following about Plaut[1]:
"In one case, a young political philosopher and human rights campaigner from Ben Gurion University, Dr. Neve Gordon, was accused by an extreme right-wing polemicist from Haifa University, Dr. Stephen Plaut, of being a supporter of Norman Finkelstein, whose book, The Holocaust Industry, led many on the Right to associate him with Holocaust deniers. When Gordon decided to sue him for libel, Plaut subsequently disseminated articles attacking Gordon on the Internet, including on some extreme right-wing Kahanist sites. Morton Klein, the head of the Zionist Organization in America, also weighed in against Gordon by writing to the President and the Rector of Ben Gurion University questioning the continued employment of Gordon and protesing his libel case which, Klein argued, was an intervention in the civil liberties of Plaut because it denied Plaut's right to freedom of expression! Klein's letter included citations and sources taken from extreme right-wing websites including the outlawed Kahane organization.

"Writing under assumed names, Plaut has a long history of attacking, labeling, and targeting left-wing scholars in Israel. One anonymous article appeared under the name of Socrates in the Middle East Review of 2001."

One example of the kind of ad hominem attack that Plaut likes to make is this article, in which he attacks the British journalist Jonathan Cook who is married to a Palestinian citizen of Israel. Bad enough as this kind of rubbish is, it does not stoop quite as far as Plaut sometimes goes – to get some hint of the depths, consider the following:
Plaut's spoofing and spamming activities
Messages posted on 13 April 2004 to the ALEF electronic discussion forum (which is based at the University of Haifa) seem to indicate something about Plaut's mentality. These messages, which were posted to ALEF by somebody else and which seem to report on an email conversation that Plaut had with someone who was banned from the ALEF forum for excessive spamming, seem to indicate that Plaut boasted about stealing the ALEF membership list so that messages could be sent to ALEF members without being passed through the ALEF system. Specifically, Plaut seems to have written the following. The typographical errors appeared in the original:

I stoll their membership list. If you want to sen dthings to the whole list, use any email and send to: (via BCC so they do not know what you are doing):
...
Put the alef address in the header and write (alef) before subject and they will think it is coming thru their list!

He also seemed to be connected with somebody called Rocky who, pretending to be a pro-Zionism Palestinian living in the West Bank, used the pseudonym "Yusuf" to plague the ALEF list with racist emails until he was excluded from the forum. Look at Rocky's description to see how Rocky finally made a mistake which spilled the beans.
Plaut convicted of libelling Neve Gordon
In June 2006, Plaut was convicted of libelling Neve Gordon – see this article, this article, this article
Other
Plaut is co-director with Dana Barnet of Israel Academia Monitor, "website acts as 'Big Brother', by tracking professors' and researchers' publications and views on Israel. The idea behind it is to warn students and potential donors of anti-Israel professors and courses at Israeli universities."[1]. This is a project of the Michael Cherney Foundation, a far-right-wing foundation.

Steven Plaut
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steven Plaut (born in 1951) is an Associate Professor on the faculty of the Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Haifa and a writer.

His editorials are often published in The Jewish Press, Front Page Magazine and other periodicals. In 2002 he authored the book The Scout. He is also a member of the editorial board of the Middle East Quarterly, a publication of the Middle East Forum think tank.

Biography
Steven Plaut was born in Philadelphia into a Jewish family. In the 1930s, his father had been in Hachshara training camp set up in Europe for young Jews who intended to make aliyah, but the British White Paper of 1939 foreclosed his plans. He managed to escape from Nazi Germany to the United States and during World War II served under General Patton.

Steven Plaut grew up in a religiously Conservative Zionist home. In 1981, the Plaut family (including his parents) immigrated to Israel.

Plaut received his undergraduate degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, his MA from Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University, specializing in international and urban economics and later in finance and worked at the Federal Reserve Bank. Before his professorship at the Haifa University, he taught at Oberlin College, the Technion, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, Central European University, Tel Aviv University, University of Nantes, and Athens Laboratory for Business Administration.

In his 2002 book The Scout Steven Plaut describes his near-death experience as a kidney cancer patient at an intensive care ward (he has recovered from the illness). The historical novel is a series of life stories exchanged between him and his neighbor at the ward, an Israeli bedouin scout.

Political views
Steven Plaut has been a persistent and outspoken Israeli critic of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and of Israel's unilateral withdrawal policy. Ever since the Oslo Accords were signed, he has argued that Palestinian and other Arab leaders would continue to seek the destruction of Israel through violence and terrorism. [1] He sees the outbreak of the Al-Aqsa Intifada and the campaign of suicide bombing as supporting his views [2].

In addition, Plaut has strongly attacked Israeli and Jewish leftists such as Michael Lerner and Norman Finkelstein. He claims that such figures are self-hating Jews and apologists for terrorism who promote the destruction of Israel [3]; he calls them "Israel's Academic Fifth Column." Plaut is particularly opposed to what he sees as left-wing extremism in Israeli universities, and is actively involved in Israel Academia Monitor, a website monitoring such activity. [4] In a July 2009 article[5] in the Canadian Jewish Tribune, he called for the use of live ammunition on protestors against the Israeli West Bank barrier, whom he described as "violent hooligans and anarcho-fascist thugs", later clarifying that "I do not believe they should be coddled with tear gas and rubber bullets."[6]

Steven Plaut has also become known through the controversy in which Neve Gordon, a faculty member at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Department of Politics and Government, sued Plaut for libel based upon several of Plaut's articles and alleged e-mails written about Gordon. In May 2006, the Israeli magistrate's court in Nazareth ruled in favour of Gordon, and ordered Plaut to pay Gordon 80,000 shekels in compensation plus 15,000 shekels in legal fees.[7] Both sides appealed to the District Court in Nazareth, and in February 2008 the court overturned all but one count relating to a publication in which Plaut had called Gordon a "Judenrat Wannabe". The court accordingly reduced the damages to 10,000 shekels (about US$2,700), with no payment of legal costs required, because "Gordon put himself in the eye of the storm of public discussion."[8][9] There is an ongoing appeal to the Supreme Court of Israel.

Wow. And they let him teach at a university? :|

I guess there's a lot of crazy professors in American uni's, too. The FUCKED up thing is that they fire them for being right(Ward Churchill, Norman Finkelstein) instead of firing them for being illogical.

I mean, seriously. What's it say about an institution that has someone working for it that would use the term "anarcho-fascist?" Clearly if you use that term you don't understand anarchy OR fascism. And they let them teach? Ridiculous.

Its just like the "islamo-fascist" drivel, it makes NO sense, facism and islam don't really mix, its a complete paradox. just like "anarcho-fascist" its just the pseudo-intellectualist way of trying to sound smart and scary at the same time. That's pretty standard fare from these sickos when it comes to Rachel Corrie as I've read similar disgusting diatribes like this before. Ithink that I even posted a short documentary showing how Palestinians were responsible for her death. It's not enough that she was run over, but now they have to torment the family.

Yeah, exactly. The whole line of reasoning flat out defies logic. Could you imagine if someone was shot several times by some gang banger, taken to the hospital, operated on, and eventually died from their wounds.... then the cops show up and ARREST THE DOCTOR? It's just ludicrous.
