My biggest issues are abortion and guns.

That was the funniest thing someone said to me all weekend.

This was actually a response to me saying that obama was prowar. I guess she wanted to make clear that she doesn't care about the war.

I'm going to an "election party" tomorrow - a room full of Americans. That's going to be a laugh. I'm going to get drunk and insult every shittly little war monger in the room (before handing out some business cards. Perhaps I'll do it the other way round)

I'm already gearing up for a fight. There is just one Nader/Paul supporter that I know of at this thing. Most (80-90%) support Obama.

I thought I'd write some notes to take along. Make it a proper debate. however, I just went to the bar down the road with a note pad and pen, and after 20 minutes, the only thing I had written was the word "cunt" (twice).

It makes you wonder why Israeli sites are so anti Obama (ie he's the son of Malcome X, according to the Israeli Insider).

What's wrong with being pro-gun? People need to be able to defend themselves you can't just be worried about other people only.

McCain's not a very good choice for this though if that's what they meant. His voting record is about as pro-2nd amendment as Obama's is anti-war. It's mostly smoke & mirrors. Same w/abortion. Everything that's part of the 'NWO' agenda they're basically both for to slightly varrying degrees.

I take the 2nd Amendment very seriously.
It is there so we can protect ourselves from the govt. Regardless of how irrational that may be today. But it also serves as an important principle of governmental philosophy, that the govt has to deal with an armed and organized population instead of just total dominance over the population.

One thing I don't understand is why are the progressive candidates like Nader & McKinney always anti-gun? Socialist uprisings have always been violent & people like Che Guevara are idolized by the left. They had guns, so why don't they want progressives today to have them?

Yes. I was confused when she first said it too, like this weird primal disbelief that someone could be so utterly disconnected from reality. I was seriously blindsided.
