What do you guys think of Bob Barr?
I totally hated this man during the Clinton years as he was the head "witch" hunter going after Slick Willy and wasted untold taxpayer dollars.
He has however reversed his position on many things and has left the Republican party and is now the Libertarian candidate. His is and always was a true conservative and says he is against any furthering of the war. Here's a piece of him on Cspan:

Now, I am an ardent Ron Paul supporter however, I don't think anything short of McCain being assassinated (pun for Hillary) is going to get him the Republican nomination. I don't know if Ron Paul is considering running as an independent but Bob Barr, IMO, is a very good alternative.
Thoughts?

better than what we got. I just think third parties are a waste. Sorry but if you want to win and you are not a celebrity then just pick a party join it and keep your own beliefs.

Stephen Colbert called his bitch ass out. Bob Barr voted FOR the Patriot Act. Then he became disillusioned that the state (or, more specifically, the "Bush Administration") "didn't use it for what they said they were going to". Wow, a Libertarian surprised that the state is abusing it's power? Should've been a no-brainer.
Ron Paul was asked on Anti-War Radio who he would vote for and he said he didn't endorse anybody. I don't know why they even asked him, since he is still in the race. If the Libertarian Party was smart, they would just endorse Ron Paul, since he is the strongest Libertarian minded candidate. Why would they want to compete with him? I don't know what the laws are about this, but I think it would have been cool if RP would have sought the nomination for the Libertarian Party AND the Republican Party... maybe even the Constitutionalist Party as well. Not sure if that is allowed though.
Anyway, just write in Ron Paul.

I also think the Libertarian party should just support Ron Paul.
I don't know what their problem is. I've almost completely lost faith in the libertarian party over their support of Bob Barr. It's like their playing the same old useless lack of integrity games that Red v Blue functions off.

On the Issues is showing Ron Paul as a 3rd party candidate.

Bob Barr A Poor Representative Of Liberty
Barr voted in favor of the Patriot Act, worked for the CIA throughout the 1970s and supported the phony war on drugs for several years
He does not have one freedom oriented bone in his body

Thanks for bringing that up. Barr is not a true Libertarian because he wants to keep marijuana illegal (among other drugs).dirtydugie wrote:Barr voted in favor of the Patriot Act, worked for the CIA throughout the 1970s and supported the phony war on drugs for several years
