Pro-bush types are all mouth and no ears. They have already decided what is true not based on reason but on a psychological need, very much akin to religion which is why the bulk of Bush's followers are bible thumping retards.

This reminds when people say communism would never work due to people's nature. It's good in theory but wouldn't work. I'm no communist, but then again if humans are naturally corrupt, how then are we supposed to form ANY governments that are righteous, moral? Our free democracy is neither free nor democratic on an absolute level, but only relative. However, it is absolutely corrupted.expendable youth wrote:its the people... i would agree on this comment.CRUSADER18 wrote:We've always had a functional court system...Ry wrote:FINALY it's almost like we have an actual functional court system.

I agree, neither free nor democratic. I put part of the blame on Americans. They've allowed themselves to be conned....seduced into apathy by vacuous, intellectually masturbatory TV shows & gadgets with ever miniturized surface-mount integrated processors, mesmerized by a carrot that gets just a little further away every year, so's we don't notice.
You'd think Americans would've taken to the streets long ago. A war criminal for a president, outing CIA agents and smearing opponents, tapping Americans phones, jerking off while New Orleans drowned, lying us into a ruinous war, making torture accepted policy, allowing protests by the shell-shocked minority only within channelized, caged, controlled areas so far from anyone that might be offended that they'd need a telescope to see it, creating an atmosphere of fear by fostering pointed undercurrents of intolerance for criticism or dissent by openly suggesting that any such behaviour during "a time of war" is unpatriotic and even subversive, giving aid & comfort to the "enemy".
The minimum wage, which all other wages are measured against, has been at $5.15 an hour for over a decade. If todays minimum wage had the same buying power as the minimum wage in the 1950's, it would have to be $8.60 an hr.. Yet our congressmen, who have no children fighting in Iraq, not only get a yearly raise but enjoy the best free healthcare money can buy. Then of course there's the lobbyists, dozens for each congressman, forking over cash, gifts, favors, buying their staff lunch and dinner with refreshing beverages (yes, that's still legal), funding their campaigns, enjoying exclusive access, and of course it does pay off or they wouldn't be doing it.
Meanwhile, yesterday 8 soldiers were blown to pieces in Iraq, a daily toll, and thousands have been recalled to do their 4th tour of duty, 3 times more than the military said they would ask, but of course they aren't "asking", they're telling.
But still Americans remain silent, yeilding and servile. In a democracy with elections, you get the government you deserve. I realize Diebold and E.S &S are foxes guarding the shrinking henhouse, but a large segment of us still voted for these fascist clowns. It's been 2 years since the last presidential election and I'm still mystified. I'm stunned that 36% of Americans still like Bushco and think they're doing a "heckuva job". I'm convinced the chimp could shishkabob kittens on a BBQ and eat them on TV while giving Jeff Gannon a backrub and these flying monkees would still support him.
The elections are right around the corner, we'll see if America has come to it's senses. If not, then the smartest people in the country are the corrupt politicians.

They're going to be doing it regardless. It is just slightly more inconvenient for them now.Ry wrote:FINALY it's almost like we have an actual functional court system.

Communism (as in small communities of equal smelly hippies) could work. Socialism can't. Either way it would be another shitty system of money-- just equal.Left of Larry wrote:This reminds when people say communism would never work due to people's nature. If it follows that most humans are naturally corrupt but some are not (would you say yourself, for instance? Etc...) then shouldn't only those not corrupt rule and the inept remain as the voiceless? Why give shitheads a say?
