Seriously guys why are so many people so stupid?
I think the first taboo to break is the taboo against talking about politic. YOu can only talk to people who want to talk about it which relative to the population is almost nobody.
Go ahead and let people get mad at you a few times for bringing it up. But force the issue of politics.

Most people are so brainwashed though. I think of my husband's family's conversations for example, where to begin? When I do succeed in making a valid point I get the "yah that's not a completely bad idea, but it'll never be accepted/never work..."
I definitely agree with the internet exposure, for now, that's our media. That is the reason I spend a good part of my spare time reposting "alternate idea/news" bulletins on myspace. I figure the repeated exposure to more truthful ideas will become more comfortable to people over time. But, for the people who mostly watch television, it's an ever long way to get through to them.
I also really like the rail idea.
