- We will use the military only for the actual defense of the United States. We will be totally effective in that worthy
and necessary task. We will close all foreign military bases. All troops will be returned to the United States. Soldiers
will be reunited with their families. We are the United States of America, not the “United States of the World”. We
will wage no foreign wars on any pretext. We will cut the military budget significantly due to the elimination of
wasteful spending programs and an empire of foreign bases that only build animosity toward our nation. We will
use the military in a righteous manner for self-defense, as was envisioned by George Washington and the original
Patriots. This was the advice given by former Marine Corps General Smedley Butler in the book "War is a Racket".
We will have a safer nation at a far lower price tag. It is commonsense advice shared today by progressives and
conservatives alike. The current Iraq occupation is an example of war under false pretext that has nothing to do
with our actual defense and is bankrupting our nation both fiscally and morally. The stationing of troops in
Germany, Japan, Korea, etc. is an example of militarism run rampant at the expense of the taxpayers; all of which
makes it impossible to meet the needs of citizens here in the U.S.
- We are opposed to further spending on any so-called “missile defense system”. We are opposed to the
militarization of space.
- We will streamline and consolidate all intelligence and national security agencies. Eliminate redundancies, improve
efficiencies. We will end the use of intelligence agencies or covert means to spy on peaceful political dissidents
within our own country or to meddle in the affairs of other sovereign nations. Such actions are both immoral and
contrary to the Constitution.
- We will eliminate all governmental foreign aid. We will end all interference in the affairs of other nations. We will
close the revised “School of the Americas” and no longer provide training or support for any foreign militaries,
security agencies, etc.
- We oppose the actions of the government of Israel vis-à-vis the Palestinian people and will not support that
government with our United Nations veto capacity.
- We recognize that the media in this country has not presented an accurate picture of our nation’s role in world
affairs, both historically and at present. Hence the American people have been led quite frequently to channel their
sense of righteousness in the wrong direction.
- We will close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. We will abide by the Geneva Conventions.
- We will restore normal relations with Cuba all other nations for the purposes of travel by U.S. citizens. We will not
restrict the travel of U.S. citizens.
- We will sign on to international accords regarding biological weapons, landmines, rights of women and children,
environmental protections, etc.
- We will advocate for fair trade with all nations with one key rule: We will not allow U.S. corporations to do business
with foreign entities where the nation (or the corporation) engages in practices such as slave labor, child labor,
unsafe working conditions, etc. U.S. corporations that fail to abide by a limit on trade with those nations/their
private entities that fail to abide by minimal human rights, worker rights, environmental protection, etc. standards
will have their charters pulled. Such foreign businesses will not be allowed to do business in the United States.
- We oppose the so-called “free trade” deals of NAFTA, the WTO, etc. We will withdraw the U.S. from these anti-
democratic agreements that infringe on our sovereignty and lead to a race to the bottom in terms of wages,
working conditions, environmental protections, etc. This is in no way in opposition to fair and proper international
trade. Our nation has lost millions of manufacturing, IT, etc. jobs to the cheapest labor markets on the planet.
- We oppose further participation of our government in the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. These
institutions have done nothing to better the lives of those in third world countries and have made the taxpayers
backers of unethical banking interests. We favor elimination of the Export-Import Bank, through which the
taxpayers have had to bail out bad investments of multinational corporations. We favor forgiveness of third world
debt.
- We will not allow “Made in the U.S.A.” to be put on products from U.S. run territories or commonwealths, such as
Guam, American Samoa, and Puerto Rico. We will offer the citizens of such protectorates their complete
independence. Better we be on the modern side of the 1776 Patriots than the British Empire.
- We will allow no evasion of taxes by domestic corporations via setting-up foreign headquarters, etc. We will not
allow foreign corporations undue ownership or influence on our domestic affairs.
- We will end all corporate welfare and subsidy of private enterprise beyond any necessary and temporary
assistance to small businesses and small farmers.
- We will not allow wrongdoing to occur under the legal protection of a corporate structure. We will hold officers of a
corporation personally responsible for any death or injury caused by the corporation. We will pull corporate
charters of misbehaving corporations.
- We will institute a national “Manhattan Project” regarding development and deployment of clean, renewable energy
sources (solar, biofuel, wind, hydrogen fuel cells, etc.). We will make it illegal to keep patents that would advance
the public good on the shelf. Corporations that engage in such practices will have their charters pulled. We
recognize that the world’s oil supply vis-à-vis demand is in decline.
- We do no equate money with speech. We do not consider corporations to be “people”. We do not confuse small
businesses with multinational corporations with respect to regulation.
- We will institute top quality comprehensive single-payer national health care for all citizens. We will ensure that all
Congressmen, etc. public employees receive no better healthcare than that granted to all citizens as a matter of
basic human decency and survival in this rich nation. We will eliminate parasitic insurance companies from the life-
and-death matter of healthcare, and we will limit the price gouging by pharmaceutical companies and others
involved in for-profit health care.
- We support the right of Americans to purchase prescription drugs from Canada or elsewhere (given the absence
of national health and the commensurate need to find a way to afford medications).
- We support preferential or instant runoff voting, by which voters can rank their ballot choices, so that voters can
vote their conscience.
- We seek to make professional lobbying of politicians illegal.
- We seek to make all gifts, free travel, etc. to elected representatives illegal.
- We suggest that voting take place on a full weekend or on a new public holiday dedicated for that purpose.
- We support limited budget, 100% publicly funded campaigns. This would not include primary elections which are in
the purview of the political parties. Such public funding would be far cheaper on the taxpayers than the current
buying of politicians by special interests. We support inclusive debates for all candidates on the ballot.
- We support equal ballot access requirements for all candidates regardless of political party or independent status.
- We will require radio and television stations to provide free airtime for all candidates on the ballot in given areas
(as a condition of freely granted FCC license monopolies on broadcast spectrum).
- We recognize that getting the money out of elections is the lynchpin to all political reform in these United States.
- We oppose any regulation of political speech on the internet, as websites are low-budget and such regulation
would serve to punish grassroots political organizations vis-a-vis the moneyed interests.
- We allow our candidates to make their own decisions with respect to hunting matters. We encourage hunting to be
done respectfully for food and discourage the hunting of confined animals or hunting for "sport".
- On matters related to reproductive choice, we will institute no government interference on any pregnant woman’s
right to control her reproductive destiny in the first trimester of pregnancy. Clearly there is a difference between a
mass of cells at the onset of pregnancy and a fetus at late term. Abortions will never be ended by legislation; only
by positive societal change. We support the current first trimester Roe v. Wade legal abortion period; on demand
RU486 “morning after pill” availability at all pharmacies as well as in hospital emergency rooms (for cases of rape);
and no waiting period requirement for abortions. We support legal abortion to save the life of a pregnant woman at
any stage of pregnancy. We are not “pro-abortion” but rather recognize that the decision to carry an incipient
pregnancy to term is deeply personal and should not involve government intrusion. (I don't like the way they worded this one. They're pro-choice but in a very anti-choice, douchey way)
- While supporting the legality and respecting the "right to die" of terminally ill persons when clearly articulated, and
the right to determine life support measures to be taken/not taken in the event of coma and the like via legal
documents such as "living wills", we oppose any termination of food, water, or life support regardless of medical
prognosis in the absence of such clearly stated wishes of the individual. The opportunity for the disabled or the ill
to be discarded (and hence denied any possible recovery) out of economic motives of insurance companies or
unloving legal guardians is simply too great.
- We support clean air, water, soil, etc. We are strong environmentalists, as our health and very survival depend
upon proper synergy with God’s nature. We oppose genetically engineered foods. We will hold wealthy interests,
be they corporations, the government, or individuals, responsible for environmental pollution and endangerment of
the public health. We recognize that many ill health effects and cancers are due to environmental pollution. Sad
indeed that as a result of coal burning power plants the mercury levels in freshwater fish from many states is
deemed unsafe.
- We support sustainable agriculture, and will provide assistance as needed to small farmers to move in the
direction of organic agriculture. We oppose the disposal of potentially hazardous waste on farm fields under the
euphemism of “bio-solid recycling”.
- We oppose oil drilling in the Arctic Refuge. We oppose mining, timber harvesting, etc. on public lands. This not
only degrades the environment but has actually cost "we the taxpayers" money for infrastructure given that the
resources have been virtually given away to politically connected corporations.
- We oppose all laws which make illegal consensual behavior between adults. We support an end to the “drug war”,
a modern prohibition that is costing the taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars (over a trillion all-tolled) and
destroying millions of lives. Our nation leads the world in incarceration. Better we focus our prison, law
enforcement, and judicial resources on actual crime, of which there is unfortunately no shortage. We favor
legalizing marijuana in a manner similar to alcohol, eliminating criminal penalties on all drug users, and recognizing
that hard drug use is not a criminal matter but rather a potential health issue. We recognize that prohibitions breed
organized and violent crime, and that black markets lead to addicts stealing and engaging in other actual crime to
feed their habits. We recognize that when addicts are treated as criminals that there is little opportunity for them to
get help in ending their addictions. We obviously favor continued criminality of provision of alcohol or any
intoxicant to a minor and the illegality of driving under the influence of any intoxicant or otherwise endangering the
public. We do not consider intoxication to be a defense.
- We support strict criminal penalties for malicious cruelty to animals. Sociopaths are often identifiable by such acts.
- We are opposed to private ownership of prisons as well as the use of prisoners as “slave labor” for either private
corporations or the state. We do not support our prisons being institutions of abuse. Elimination of freedom is itself
sufficient punishment. We support the teaching of basic skills to prisoners as a fundamental way to reduce
recidivism.
- We oppose the death penalty at the federal level as it may be used for political purposes. We leave it to our
candidates to choose a position on the death penalty at the state level.
- We will pay off the nearly $8 trillion dollar national debt by a one-time progressive tax on wealth (individual and
corporate), beginning at the $10 million dollar level. All foreign interests (corporate or individual) with property or
businesses in the United States would be required to also pay this one-time tax or forfeit their interest in our nation.
- We support mandatory balanced budgets at all levels of government.
- We oppose all spending mandates to lower levels of government (such as state to local municipalities) without
commensurate funding.
- The average citizen is vastly overtaxed. When all taxes and fees, hidden and visible are taken into account, the
percentage of income that we pay in taxes is substantial (perhaps half of our incomes). Far more than is received
back in government services. We will cut government waste and eliminate the influence of special interests in
terms of giveaways, spending, and loopholes in the tax code. We will increase tax fairness and reduce the tax
burden on the middle class. Proportionally speaking, the extremely wealthy pay a far smaller percentage of their
income in taxes than does the average American worker or, for that matter, than even taxpayers making $200,000
a year.
- We support the financial markets and opportunities of capitalism. We demand “responsible capitalism” in which
money is never elevated above respect for life. We support the right of citizens to engage in true free market
investment and speculation within the context of prohibiting fraud, the outsourcing of U.S. jobs, pollution, unsafe
working conditions, and the like. Ethical capitalism is to be applauded.
- We will shield the first $20,000 of income per adult from the income tax. When originally proposed, the income tax
was intended to be a tax only on superfluous wealth. We advocate moving from an income tax to progressive
taxation based on wealth.
- We support the right of those with a gay or lesbian sexual preference to be free of discrimination in the workplace,
the military, housing, etc.
- We will fight for justice in the law. We will reform the legal system so that truth is the goal rather than knee-jerk
prosecution or defense based on cash rather than righteousness. We support reparations for those erroneously
imprisoned. We favor making the courts places of justice, where money does not rule and a search for the truth is
paramount.
- We support criminal prosecution of law enforcement officers who engage in brutality against the citizenry. We
advocate for independent citizen oversight committees of large city police departments. This in no way reduces our
support for the overwhelming majority of law enforcement professionals who perform a difficult job and provide a
valuable public service.
- We oppose any mandatory national service or draft.
- We oppose all infringements on workers’ rights to organize.
- We advocate for a full investigation into the events of 9/11 in order to pursue the unresolved issues raised by
those in the "9/11 Truth Movement" and scholars such as David Ray Griffin and Morgan Reynolds.
BAD SMELLS!!!
- We are opposed to same-sex marriage. We support a Constitutional Amendment if necessary to ensure that
marriage is defined at the federal level as between “one man and one woman”. We recognize a difference between
tolerance and societal endorsement.
- We support the abolishment of the Electoral College.
- We will close the border with Mexico and protect all of our borders from any illegal trespass, using the military to
perform this task. We will deport illegal immigrants present in the United States. We will pull the charters of large
corporations that knowingly employ illegal aliens, and we will sell their assets for the public good. We will impose
monetary fines on small businesses that knowingly employ illegal immigrants.
- We oppose affirmative action. Too long the American People have been divided and conquered along racial lines
by the powers that be. Better we unite and raise all up without racial or ethnic divide. We oppose all discrimination
based on race. We oppose racial profiling of American citizens. (not sure about this one.. I'd have to see how far they're going with it.. I support SOME affirmative action)
- We support English as the official language of the nation, with respect to road signs, government forms, etc. This
has no impact on the ability of citizens to speak whatever languages they choose, it simply makes it so the
government is not required to put other languages on a par with English. The only exception to this is with respect
to persons of Native American descent. Given the genocide that these peoples experienced, and the fact that they
were here first, we must allow their languages equal status with English. Without the ability to communicate with
each other we can have no integrated citizenry. We support making the teaching of English available to all citizens
be they adults or children in schools. We support the use of interpreters in courts of law or in hospitals. As it would
be absurd to move to Mexico or France and expect the citizens of those nations to make English on a par with their
native language, we too must be united in our ability to communicate with each other. (people are easier to control when they're all speaking the "same" language)
Very few bad smells. I like 'em. A lot. A lot of very good ideas. They should be right up your ally, Ry (and a lot of other people on here). Opposition to Isreal, call for full investigation of the evnets of 9/11, repeal of NAFTA, repeal of Patriot Act... doesn't get much better than these guys. They really are taking a lot of what I like about Greens and Libs and mixing them. A few tweaks and it'd be the "Fat Pat Party".
