White House preparing to stage new September 11 - Reagan official
13:58 | 20/ 07/ 2007
WASHINGTON, July 20 (RIA Novosti) - A former Reagan official has issued a public warning that the Bush administration is preparing to orchestrate a staged terrorist attack in the United States, transform the country into a dictatorship and launch a war with Iran within a year.
Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, blasted Thursday a new Executive Order, released July 17, allowing the White House to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies and giving the government expanded police powers to exercise control in the country.
Roberts, who spoke on the Thom Hartmann radio program, said: "When Bush exercises this authority [under the new Executive Order], there's no check to it. So it really is a form of total, absolute, one-man rule."
"The American people don't really understand the danger that they face," Roberts said, adding that the so-called neoconservatives intended to use a renewal of the fight against terrorism to rally the American people around the fading Republican Party.
Old-line Republicans like Roberts have become increasingly disenchanted with the neoconservative politics of the Bush administration, which they see as a betrayal of fundamental conservative values.
According to a July 9-11 survey by Ipsos, an international public opinion research company, President Bush and the Republicans can claim a mere 31 percent approval rating for their handling of the Iraq war and 38 percent for their foreign policy in general, including terrorism.
"The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists ... are preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events," he said. "You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda is not going to do it, it is going to be orchestrated."
Roberts suggested that in the absence of a massive popular outcry, only the federal bureaucracy and perhaps the military could put constraints on Bush's current drive for a fully-fledged dictatorship.
"They may have had enough. They may not go along with it," he said.
The radio interview was a follow-up to Robert's latest column, in which he warned that "unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the U.S. could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran."
Roberts, who has been dubbed the "Father of Reaganomics" and has recently gained popularity for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War, regularly contributes articles to Creators Syndicate, an independent distributor of comic strips and syndicated columns for daily newspapers.

Ok, now I remember hearing about this months ago. It's not getting reported, not surprisingly.
My husband agrees with Thunk Army and says I am overreacting. But I don't think I am. People should be rioting in the streets for LOSING our freedom of speech!! I think we are UNDER REACTING and big time. I read this act as "you're either for us or you're for the terrorists." Any "American person" who is "violent" against their evil Zionist regime will have their property confiscated, and anyone who offers "services" or money or assistance to someone who is "violent" against the regime will also have their property confiscated. It's to scare us from speaking out; a threat of punishment if we dare exercise our freedom of speech.
How is this not a big deal??

Its a very big deal. At what point do we over react?gracefounddog wrote:Ok, now I remember hearing about this months ago. It's not getting reported, not surprisingly.

Thanks for the video Phys. I sent it to all my friends.
Fucking Americans.
I am SOOOOOO pissed that my own husband is trying to silence my outrage. Psychos are going to NUKE Iran and protesters are threatened to have their property confoiscated - but god forbid I be "in a bad mood" about it. My usually sane husband actually just said this to me. He said I am "overreacting" and the "world isn't going to let that happen," and I am "too amped up about it and need to calm down" --- oh, and he doesn't want to be around me if I'm going to be so "upset" about losing my freedom of speech
ARRGGHHHH This is nightmare.
The only outrage I hear is coming from people I don't even know. Everyone in my life is in some degree of denial. Americans are allowing them to do this!!! No objection=agreement. I can't fucking believe this is happening.

completely uncontitutional. They wont arrest all of us. I say fine lets go protest "aid to Israel and wars for Israel" that way we are not techniquely talking about Iraq.

Well excuuuuuuuse me for bitching. Sometimes it's healthy to vent and actually I rarely do. So as I said to my husband; you can kiss my ass for giving a shit.xXToteXx wrote:Denial only exists when you allow someone else to define reality for you. What are "they" in denial of that you are not?
And yes, much of the truth movement IS a huge over-reaction. Your husband is right. The only people who get controlled are the ones who yell, "Oh no, I'm being controlled and there is nothing millions of people can do about it!". People only have the power that you give to them. If you treat them like untouchables, they will be untouchable. Treat them like the common thugs they are and laugh at them in their faces. Until you realize how much more powerful you are than them, you will continue to submit yourself to them. You can call it 'denial' if you'd like... but when I got into politics, the odds couldn't have been stacked HIGHER against us, and look at it today. All it took was a little hard work and some fucking confidence in the self. Everything else is drama, everything else is drama.

I was joking about kissing my ass btw. I agree with most of what you said. Except I am NOT overreacting!!!
I agree with Grace however I think what Tote is saying which I also agree with is that something that perpetuates the problem is expressing helplessness which grace nearly Never does. Persoanlly I think this was huge mistake for Bush it is always good to force a dictator to cact like one. People are going to protest the war on the 11th of August no matter what and I doubt Bush can arrest all those people wiothout causing a riot.
It is time for another Tea Party. The revolution will not be telivised. But it will be on the web. People need to caryr anti-MSM signs and anti-Israel signs in the protest. When I go to America I will be protesting the war in Charlottesville VA and I dare thenm to try an arrest me, the whole thing will be on film and if a cop touches me I will knock that mother fucker out.

Lots of people on digg seem to be saying a similar article - http://www.ron-paul-business-directory. ... ranny.html - is inaccurate. I don't know the basis for that yet though. I'll get back to yall if I find something.
