Re: The Fake Music Industry
I could write a blog about this. the crux of it is - if the MSM push it, its designed to be a cash cow single with no cultural significance. The music industry is done, and can never be repaired until society is repaired.

Slow news day?

Auto-tune has no soul. I recorded 6 or 7 new bands this year all young students and none of them needed auto tune. Vocals generally require some compression maybe a bit of delay some and mild EQing. If the vocalist requires much more than that they should probably think about picking up a cow bell. unless the chick is like really really hot then you auto-tune the shit out of that voice

I personally think vocals are a dated-concept and don't belong in the middle of the mix anymore, 3 piece progressive jazz is the future!

Well, I'll just say that if Billy Corgan is being auto-tuned, it would have to be because otherwise every unsterilized cat within a ten mile radius would be trying to mate with him. Either that, or the extreme sonic dissonance would cause listeners' heads to explode.
But on a slightly more serious note, I actually wouldn't mind if some musicians used auto-tune to improve their vocals, as long as they were upfront about it. I don't know if auto-tune works on black metal vocals, but if Burzum's Varg Vikernes didn't sound like a screaming sheep every time he opened his mouth, I might actually be able to enjoy his music.
