Why is there such a huge discrepancy on how many Iraqis have died. Where does one find an accurate, "official" number. I've read where 100K Iraqis have been killed, for example.

"Official" AND accurate? Hmmm, I don't know if there is such a thing.Where does one find an accurate, "official" number.
Depleted Uranium deaths are sometimes instant in child birth defects (see: Dr Dahlia Wasfi's works) but yes, many are delayed deaths and will occur over years.Doronjo wrote:"Official" AND accurate? Hmmm, I don't know if there is such a thing.Where does one find an accurate, "official" number.
But I do remember one scientific assessment from a few (several?) years ago that had quite a big number. My memory isn't what it used to be, but The Lancet and 600,000 deaths seem to remain in my head.
Must be much higher now. And the DU and other nasties will cause problems for decades, at least.

Depleted Uranium deaths are a fucking travesty to the soldiers who go and fight these wars in a same way that the illnesses and deaths of first responders to 9/11 are.
Official and accurate are oxymorons when we're talking about truth and justice for people who go into a fight with best intentions these days.
