Chuck Hagel: "State department is Zionist influenced."

Israeli lobby: "Apologize or we'll tell everyone you're a Nazi."

Hmmm.

He has 57 confirmed votes. He will be the next Secretary of Defense.

They just want to humiliate him first.
Thanks for bringing this back.

Republicans in the Senate are essentially filibustering President Obama's nomination of Chuck Hagel to lead the Defense Department, an unprecedented delay for a cabinet nominee who has majority support. And while the move delays an up-or-down vote on Hagel's nomination for at least 10 days, most analysts believe he will eventually be confirmed, in no small part because the GOP doesn't want to set a precedent that could come back to haunt the party the next time a Republican wins the presidency. Still, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and other GOP senators may have already succeeded in one respect: Drubbing Hagel so mercilessly that he ultimately proves to be a powerless figure at the Pentagon.

Of course he will be back. Obama could just veto whatever and appoint him himself. Nobody follows rules in Congress. They just like to give off the impression that they do.

What does the Congress have to do with the confirmation of Hagel?
Confirmation is done by the Senate and Obama could not veto the Senate. Hagel has to be confirmed with a majority vote which he already has. The republicans are just continuing their obstructionist behavior. Of course, Reid did nothing.
WASHINGTON -- After an exasperated rant about Republican obstructionism, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Thursday night that it's time to revamp the Senate's longstanding filibuster rule.

"If there were anything that ever needed changing in this body, it's the filibuster rule, because it's been abused, abused and abused," Reid said on the Senate floor.

Harry Reid still has done nothing.
The Republican party is going to go the way of the Whigs.

Along Party Lines, Senate Confirms Chuck Hagel As The Next Secretary Of Defense
After an unprecedented filibuster by Republicans, the nomination of Chuck Hagel for secretary of defense prevailed, Tuesday afternoon.

With a vote of 58 to 41, the Senate acted mostly along party lines to confirm Hagel.

Did you see Rand Paul voted no?
What an ass.

Well I am not very excited about Hegal I wanted him to win but he is no anti-neocons he will however most likely say no to war with Iran and this was an embarrassment to the Israeli lobbies as they went full tilt and failed to manipulate US policy.

Take it as a win.

Rand Paul voted yes.
After someone told him he was no Ron Paul, he changed his vote to yes.

A day before Hagel is confirmed (which most everyone knew he would be confirmed) "The Times of Israel" post this ‘Obama to tell Netanyahu US gearing up for Iran strike’

He changed his vote? I didn't know you could even change a vote after you made it.
