We have done everything civil and no one is listening. It's time to march in mass to the Point cross the stupid NPS ropes enter the Point and sit down.

Refuse to leave and refuse arrest. They cannot bring everyone to Manteo. They can try to give tickets to everyone, refuse to pay them as their closure is illegal. The park was created by congressional law. it is unconstitutional to allow a judge using an executive order to overturn the LAW.

Refuse to give you names. Everyone men and women alike are named Thomas Jefferson. The School in Buxton should be empty. Every student every parent every Islander needs to protest. And the most important thing is to FILM it. The media will not do it. The papers will spin it. YOU have to bust out digital cameras and film it yourselves.

PROTEST MARCH 19!

I guess if it ain't Ewetoob, it cain't be embedded.

Make sure that the filmmaker, Kevin Hicks, knows about the planned
protest so he can add it to the film.

thanks dicktator.

If America's Beach goes to DVD I am going to sell them at my museum and have the film playing on a loop
It's an island...you can't close the beach without massive economic damage.

2011 Pre-Nesting Closures
National Park Service News Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: DATE: February 18, 2011
CONTACT: Cyndy Holda, 252-473-2111 ext. 148

2011 Pre-nesting Closure Information Available to the Public

Superintendent Mike Murray announced today that the Cape Hatteras National Seashore 2011 pre-nesting closure summary description and maps have been released and are available to the public on the PEPC website under the Interim Protected Species Management Strategy project at:

http://parkplanning.nps.gov/document.cf ... ntID=39239

Park natural resource staff conducted the annual assessment of piping plover (PIPL) breeding habitat and identified prenesting areas based on current habitat conditions and consideration of PIPL breeding activity in recent years. The pre-nesting areas will be established by March 15, 2011 in accordance with the consent decree. Temporary resource protection areas are established to protect threatened and endangered species, including piping plovers and sea turtles, and for species of concern, including American oystercatchers and colonial waterbirds (terns and black skimmers). Visitors are reminded that pets must be physically restrained at all times on a leash no greater than 6 feet on all National Seashore beaches.

For more information, call 252-473-2111 ext. 148.

Wow! I just read through this thread.

First of all : Ryan - your singing of Imagine is ... wondrous ! Good for you - and I hope someone takes you up on your offer of singing your song. Not that I don't like it ... but .... !!!

Second of all : If the piping plover is native to a whole other area, then let them fuck off out of there and go home. Besides there is a bird sanctuary just a short walk/flight from there, they can go there if they're smart - if not - let them get eaten by a fox!

Third of all : I sure hope that one day, societies like the Audobon Society and govt organizations like NPS decide to care just a little bit about HUMANS. Possibly if they cared about humans a tad bit more than 6 pairs of nesting plovers then they would get what they need from us - if its money then charge a NOMINAL fee to get on the beach. Put in a public shitter and some signs indicating this is a nesting area - please fuck off - and the majority of people will respect that. But to close the beach to everyone except themselves with their hand guns killing foxes, coons, turtles and birds, this is bullshit.

I don't know how to help as I'm way at the other side of the country on an island that is more and more privately owned by rich bastards that don't allow us access to beach areas at all either, but I wish you all the luck in the world. Kick their fucking asses ! I will spread word about the Audobon Society and let people know about this. In this way maybe I can help a tad bit.

Sadly the economy is going to get worse. trillion dollar wars and fraud on wallstreet will do that. You guys should protest the beach closings and just go out to the Point anyway. The judge had no legal authority to overturn a congressional law. He can't punish the public just because the NPS didn't follow an executive order 40 years ago. It's duely unconstitutional for the judicial branch to use the executive branch as a pretext to overturn congressional legislation. Unfortunately they DID have legislative body sign off, they got the county commission to roll over for them. However the only way to explain it, is to admit the county screwed up which they will never do. The island loves them and blames everything on the Audubon etc. It was both. We had insincere environment groups doing it for profits and the county complying for the same reason. Warren Judge run a hotel up the beach. They benefit from fleecing Hatteras's tourism to Nag's Head. They still have no authority to hand away a national park, it's not up to the local government, also part of it Ocracoke is in a different county.

And Alan is an idiot "yes man" who thinks they chose the lesser of two evils. They didn't. They thought that was what they were doing because they are ignorant nearly retarded people who can not even conjugate verbs correctly in their native language. Alan said "they come here" instead of "came" in the short clip they allowed of him, in the movie Piping Mad. He makes us all look like we are as stupid as he is. I was glad my Grand Mother was shown right ater him and used the word came correctly. It's quite low standard to have for public officials but that is where we are. (Hell we have a president who said there were 57 states). And the county hired some fat dope 80k a year to pass out stickers and preach to the choir. The island is getting what it deserves for being as stupid as it is. Another commissioner thought they voted for judge Boyle. He was federally appointed... This is the problem law makers who don't even know how the law works. But idiots vote for each other, so naturally we have morons for commissioners, because we have morons all over. The Tsunami in Japan was a freak thing largest earth quake ever nothing could be done. But did you notice something? No looting. None. And people don't own guns. The floods in Rodanthe are preventable. Much of the erosion is man made from dredging the bridge for the Pirate Cove millionaires and the NPS burning the vegetation every year. Are people are going to have to die before they change anything? Making people grow broke apparently isn't enough. There is a majority of Republicans in congress right. It would be easy to pass the senate bill. All it takes is one person to go up and do what I did to get it introduced. No one will though.

I get to teach economics in Japan in a second language, in a city of 22 million, and speak on national radio shows about politics, but in Hatteras I can't get a quote in the local paper or sub teach elementary school. It's crabs in a bucket. When someone is capable, they attack them. And that is why the place is so desperate. It's also why nothing is going to get better.

If there is a rally it will be from my brother. But I fear people will cower and wall up next to the line, have some feel good ranting time and leave with the tail between their legs. People need to break the law because it's not even a law. The law says it's your park the judge says it isn't and he is wrong. It isn't up to him to make or change laws. That 5th grade level understanding of branches of government. No authority on the hill is going to inform everyone of that. I've said it a million times and it's like talking to children. The only people who knew what I was talking about, outside a handful of people mostly my own family or tourists, were the peons in DC who could not fathom how something this ridiculous could make it so far so long. It's like radiation already hit the area and gave mass brain damage. I am so glad I am not on the funny farm. The only thing I miss is teaching jujitsu. My students have gone on and won the Naga Nationals in jujitsu. Gold and Silver. All those kids are teachable. They're going to have to move though because there won't be any work maybe even business left if things keep going the way they are. There is no reason everyone should have suffer and struggle the way they are.

But people down there are so at one another. Even after all the disasters. It's dog eat dog. Over here the whole nation including people completely unaffected are pulling together for recovery and rescue. There is a lot to learn from people with honor. Hatteras needs to bond together and drop all these stupid factions of ego and web blog attention whores. You don't need the OBPA or anything else. The unity should be base don the fact that you live there and because it's RIGHT. It IS legally a national recreational Park it was created for that purpose it is not a wild life refuge and so it can not be treated as one.

Rally on the Point break the non-law refuse to give you names or pay tickets, make a big enough stink that the news gets off the Island where rational people and people with money live who can do something about it.
